Motivational Stories

Ladies, the best part about getting us up and getting us moving is we all have one goal. We can work together in making our trek! We have 5,000 miles to go and it starts with just our first step. We are not competing against each other, but only ourselves. We can work together and help one another similar to the original trek. I find that there are three main benefits of getting out and moving. First, its a selfish motivator, and that is just getting some time to spend thinking, praying, and contemplating the day and its challenges. Running or walking helps clear my mind and helps me refocus and reprioritize my daily events. Second, there is physical benefit which we always hear about, but there is a big psychological benefit. This can include an endorphins high which can last up  to 12 hours, helping us with our daily demands. This also can include a calmer, happier, and more patient mom, and wife. The final third benefit is setting new goals, empowering ourselves to achieve more, and developing a stronger individual. I hope that some of this helps, and we can help each other to meet our relief society trek goal.

  1. Thanks, Susan! I love seeing you out running with your dog or by yourself. You seem to be out there rain, snow or shine. Thank you for being such a beautiful example to me! Be sure and keep track of your miles and help us get to Zion!
